For many years I worked in the
Building, Stores and Hospitality industries.
As the years have gone by, I have developed an
interest, come obsession, with the world of
Computers, or "Puters" as I call them.
This obsession was started with the help of my
son and an old Commodore 64 many moons ago and
progressed with his path through University for
the attainment of his Associate Diploma in
Computer Programming. In 1996 I decided a career
change would be a good move and enrolled at Wyong
Tafe for a course in Electrical Engineering. Due
to a few twists and turns this course ended up
being an "Advanced Diploma in Electrical
Engineering (Computer Technology)".
Feeling the need to add more "IT" qualifications
, I set out to complete the "Information
Technology Certificate 3 " course, followed by
the Certificate 4 subjects in "PC Support" and
"Network Support" at the Ourimbah Campus.
Why stop here I said, and so went on to finish
another 6 months and the Diploma Course.
Hence the reference to the "Double Dip", or more
correct term of "Dual Diploma's".
So, this old fella's portfolio now reads;
Jack of All Trades
Advanced Diploma in Electrical
Engineering (Computer Technology)
Diploma of Information Technology (PC and
Network Support)
Now although these qualifications say I can
tinker with your Puter, it doesn't automatically
mean that I will know how to fix whatever ails
it. What I will guarantee you though, is that I
will find out how to.
